Alex has spent the last 12 years working in the Lloyd’s insurance market, where he headed up international broking teams for Hayward Aviation and R K Harrison. Alex has focused on Aviation, Energy and private retail business. His most recent role has been in developing new underwriting products and distribution for the UK aviation market. He holds a BA from Manchester in Business Management and International Relations.
Co-Founder & COO
Cristiano has more than 12 years experience in the Insurance Industry and particularly in the London Market, placing a multitude of products in Lloyd’s and Company Markets. He has been instrumental in developing Special Risks Insurance Brokers and is an advisory consultant to leading insurance players for expansion into new markets. He has expertise in both Direct and Reinsurance business. With Z/Yen he co-founded Insenter, an innovative insurance platform and community network. He holds a Masters in Economic Science from Switzerland and has worked in Italy, Switzerland, USA and the UK.
Head of Partnerships
Robin has worked in the city over the past 5 years, gaining experience as a research analyst in the fund management industry, and as a shipbroker in the container chartering division. He brings an analytical eye to his support and development role at SafeShare. Robin is also a keen athlete and fundraiser, most recently completing the Wales Ironman for Macmillan Cancer Support. He holds a BSc (Hons.) First Class in History and Philosophy of Science from UCL.
Sharing Economy Advisor
David has spent the last seven years working in tech startups and advertising agencies, specialising in digital strategy and business development. He is a true believer of the digital-enabled collaboration and that is why he has been so involved in the Sharing Economy almost since the movement started. David has been the Connector of the Sharing Economy in Argentina for OuiShare, the first and largest sharing economy think-and-do tank, organising the first major events dedicated to the collaborative economy in Latin America. He was also the Global Curator for CollaborativeConsumption.com. David holds a BA in Public Relations and is currently completing an Executive Master in Digital Business at ESADE Business School, Madrid.
A sound training in the City; stockbroking, the Financial Times and Charles Barker, led to Richard co-founding Valin Pollen in the early eighties which grew to become the first listed corporate communications consultancy in the UK, and overseas. Creative innovation in client servicing and the ability to engage and motivate teams to fully support the core values of Valin Pollen, and the consultancies he has successfully developed since, gives Richard the in depth experience and empathy sought by clients and consultancies today.
Prof. Michael Mainelli
Michael Mainelli is the co-founder of Z/Yen, the City of London’s leading commercial think-tank and venture firm. His career summary is a decade of technology research (aerospace, computer, seismology) followed by a decade in finance (Arthur Andersen, partner at BDO Binder Hamlyn and Director of Europe’s largest R&D organization (DERA)) then subsequently over 15 years of finance & technology in Z/Yen. Educated at Harvard, Trinity College Dublin and the London School of Economics he is also Professor Emeritus of Commerce and a Fellow at Gresham College, Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics Department of Management Information Systems & Innovation Group.
Ralph was admitted as a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland in 1971 whilst working for Pricewaterhouse & Co. He joined the insurance industry in 1977 and held several Finance Director positions until moving to Bain Hogg in 1992 when he was promoted to CEO of Europe. In 1997 Ralph joined Euler Hermes and was appointed CEO of Euler international. Since retiring in 2004, Ralph has been a Non-Executive Director of IRC (Europe) Limited and of Newman, Martin & Buchan LLP and is Chairman of his own consultancy firm, Eurinsure. He has been a Non Executive Director of R K Harrison Group and he is currently a Non Executive Director of Markel International.
